So, you will not have to worry whether they will sync with the decor of your patio space.
How to maintain patio blinds
Whatever you buy, you have to take good care of it. Else it will succumb to the damages of time soon. Similarly, if you have installed patio blinds (or are thinking of doing so), you need to take the responsibility of cleaning and maintaining them. The frequency and the method of maintenance will depend on the kind of shades you have purchased and the climatic and surrounding conditions you will be installing them in. Below are mentioned some tips using which you can keep your outdoor blinds in good form.
Things you would require for cleaning wood, vinyl, and aluminum patio blinds
- A vacuum cleaner
- Some pieces of microfiber cloth
- Warm water
- Duster (Optional)
Method
-
Step 1: Preparing the shades
You have to lower the shades first. If the blinds are made of faux wood or timber, you can keep them fully closed. But if they are overlapping vinyl or aluminum blinds, you will have to avoid totally closing them and tilt them downwards
-
Step 2: Dusting
Take the microfiber cloth (if you want, you can use a dampened cloth to avoid dispersing the dust) and wipe the vanes. Start from the top and slowly move downwards by repeating the same process. Ensure the cloth that you are using is more or less clean enough to pick up the dust.
-
Step 3: Dusting the other side
After having wiped one side of the blinds, flip the vanes and clean them in the same manner. If you want, you can use your vacuum cleaner too.
-
Step 4: Removing the remaining deposits
If you are cleaning after a long time, then your blinds may not get completely cleaned in one dusting. You might have to repeat the process two or three times. If you find stubborn grease or any other residue, you can use warm water with mild detergent to remove them from the surface of the slats.
-
Step 5: Let them dry
Before retracting the blinds, let them completely dry.
Conclusion
So, if you have installed a patio blind for your outdoor space, do take out time to clean them as well.
